Andy Murray reaches the final of the Erste Bank Open after David Ferrer withdraws with a leg injury.

Andy Murray has made it through to the final of Erste Bank Open in Vienna after David Ferrer pulled out with injury.

The Spaniard withdrew from the contest following advice from a private clinic, where he had been receiving treatment for a leg complaint.

Murray will now face Jo-Wilfried Tsonga on Sunday as he closes in on the world number one ranking for the first time in his career.

The Scot will usurp Novak Djokovic in the rankings if he wins both the tournament in Austria and next week's Paris Masters and if the Serb fails to reach the final in the French capital.

Murray claimed his sixth title of the year with victory in the Shanghai Masters earlier this month.
