Laura Robson to make long-awaited return at Eastbourne

Laura Robson confirms that she will make her return to competitive tennis after 17 months out injured at the upcoming tournament in Eastbourne.

Former British number one Laura Robson has confirmed that she will return to competitive tennis action after 17 months away at the upcoming grass-court tournament in Eastbourne.

The 21-year-old has struggled to recover from wrist surgery in April last year, but is hoping that a wildcard for the Eastbourne tournament could result in another invitation to play at Wimbledon later this month.

She posted a picture on Twitter today saying that she was "tournament bound" ahead of the Eastbourne event.

Robson reached a career-high world ranking of 27 at the age of 19 following her run to the fourth round of Wimbledon two years ago.ID:228874: cacheID:228874:1false2false3false:QQ:: from db desktop :LenBod:restore:1375:
