British number one Johanna Konta has withdrawn from the Hong Kong Open with an abdominal strain.
The 25-year-old was due to take on Wang Qiang in a second-round contest, but injury forced her out of the tie without a ball being hit.
Konta, who suffered defeat at the hands of Agnieszka Radwanska in the China Open final last weekend, reached the second round in Hong Kong after overcoming compatriot Naomi Broady in straight sets.
Konta currently sits in the final qualifying position for the WTA Championships in Singapore, but following her withdrawal, Dominika Cibulkova will nab the spot if she reaches the final of the Linz Open.
