World number two Andy Murray reveals that he is looking forward to getting his clay-court season underway on Wednesday.

World number two Andy Murray has described the Monte Carlo Masters as a "fun tournament" as he prepares to begin his campaign on Wednesday.

Murray will face France's Edouard Roger-Vasselin, and the British number one hopes that he can at least reach the semi-finals of the tournament like he did in 2009 and 2011.

The 25-year-old told Sky Sports News: "I enjoy the clay-court season. All these cities that we play in, like Rome, Monte Carlo and Paris, are beautiful cities.

"Monte Carlo is a fun tournament to come to because it is a bit different to what we see for the rest of the year.

"I have played some good tennis here in the past, and I hope that I can do the same this year."

The US Open champion has not played since winning the Miami Masters over two weeks ago.
