Marin Cilic has booked his place in the second round of the French Open after beating Robin Haase in straight sets.
The ninth seed made light work of his Dutch opponent, winning 6-2 6-4 6-2 at Roland Garros.
Cilic raced into a 5-2 lead in the opening set courtesy of two breaks of serve, as Haase struggled to contain the Croatian. Cilic then served out the set to love after just 26 minutes of play.
Haase improved in the second set as he looked to contain Cilic, but the Dutchman allowed his opponent to break in the seventh game to go 4-3 behind. Cilic did not let his advantage slip as he moved two sets ahead.
Cilic broke Haase at the beginning of the final set on his way to establishing a two-game lead. Haase attempted to recover and had a break point in the sixth game to make it 3-3, but Cilic saved it and went on to win the game to move 4-2 up.
The world number 10 broke Haase again before serving out to love to wrap up the set and the match.
