Heavy rain showers force Andy Murray's French Open quarter-final against David Ferrer to be suspended.

The French Open quarter-final between Andy Murray and David Ferrer has been suspended because of rain.

The two players were asked to leave the court at Roland Garros with the scores level at one set apiece.

Spaniard Ferrer took the opening set 6-4, only for world number four Murray to respond with a 7-3 success in a tie-break.

As it stands it is unclear if the players will return to the court later today.

The winner of the tie, which may run over into tomorrow, will face Rafael Nadal in the semi-final.
