Andy Murray pleased with approach in win over Nick Kyrgios

Andy Murray reveals his delight after overcoming the unpredictable Nick Kyrgios in the third round of the French Open.

Andy Murray has revealed his delight with the performance which earned him a straight-sets win over the unpredictable Nick Kyrgios in the third round of the French Open.

Kyrgios entertained the crowd in Paris with his unique approach, despite failing to seriously trouble the British number one, who was in a confident mood after winning his 13th successive clay-court match.

"I watch him quite a lot, so you go on the court expecting the unexpected," the Scot revealed on court. "You just have to be on your toes at all times and try to be ready for something different.

"I feel like I have done a good job of weathering the storms that he always has during matches - periods in the matches where he's on fire and hits some unbelievable shots.

"But I just try to stay solid throughout and make it difficult for them."

Murray will take on Jeremy Chardy in the last 16 after the Frenchman beat David Goffin on Saturday.
