Caroline Wozniacki admits that beating 16-year-old Donna Vekic at the Australian Open today has made her feel like a tour veteran despite being just 22.

Tenth seed Caroline Wozniacki has revealed that she feels much older than her 22 years after beating teenager Donna Vekic at the Australian Open earlier today.

Wozniacki produced an efficient display to beat the 16-year-old in straight sets and believes that her dominant performance is a sign that her game is becoming more assured.

She told reporters: "It's tough, she's young and we will definitely see a lot of her in the future. I tried to be the one to take control, I feel like a veteran now and wanted to show that.

"I'm only 22 but I even got asked if I'd thought about retiring a few months ago, I'm starting to feel seriously old.

"It's a tough battle out there in the heat but that's why you have the off season to prepare."

The former world number one will play Ukrainian qualifier Lesia Tsurenko in the third round on Saturday.
