US Open champion Andy Murray has admitted that nerves could kick in ahead of his tricky opening match against Robin Haase.
The 25-year-old became the first Brit to win a Grand Slam title in 76 years when he defeated Novak Djokovic in five sets at Flushing Meadows in September.
He recently said that his triumph in New York had relieved the pressure on his shoulders, but has now hinted that he has been experiencing mixed emotions as the Australian Open tournament draws near.
"I have no idea how I'm going to play here and how I'm going to feel when I enter onto the court," ESPN quotes Murray as saying.
"I said that I feel more relaxed, but I don't know.
"The day when I play my first match, I could be unbelievably nervous - I don't know what effect it will have on me until I'm put in that situation. But I also know how hard these events are to win."
Murray is bidding to become the first man to win his second Grand Slam title immediately after capturing his first.
