Defending Australian Open champion Victoria Azarenka believes that she is warming up to the task of retaining her title after thrashing Eleni Daniilidou in straight sets earlier today.

Top seed Victoria Azarenka has insisted that she is finding form at the right time as she continued her Australian Open title defence with a routine win this morning.

Azarenka produced a clinical straight-sets victory against Eleni Daniilidou and believes that the win helped her get back into the groove in Melbourne.

She told reporters: "Today was much better, I'm back in the competitive tournament mode 100% and focused.

"I knew it was going to be tough with the conditions but I was focused on winning quickly. I like the way I built up from the last match and plan to keep improving.

"It's difficult to duplicate the form I had at the start last season but I will do my best. This year feels not much different because I am here to win again, there is expectations from the outside but I must remain focused."

The defending champion will play either Jamie Hampton or Thai qualifier Luksika Kumkhum in round three on Saturday.
