German table tennis star Han Ying dedicates gold to colleagues at Baku 2015

Han Ying admits that she played for her teammates and country when securing table tennis gold in the women's team final at the European Games.

German table tennis gold medallist Han Ying was proud to win for her teammates and country after coming through the decisive match in the women's team final this afternoon.

Ying lost her opening singles match to Netherlands' Li Jiao, but recovered to beat Britt Eerland to help Germany win 3-2.

"In general I have much more pressure on me in team competition than when I play singles, because in singles I am only responsible for myself, but in team I play for my colleagues and for Germany," said Ying, according to the official Baku 2015 website.

"I was happy that after losing the first match, I had the chance to win the medal for my team."

Earlier in the day, Czech Republic overcome Ukraine to claim the bronze.
