Czech Republic win table tennis bronze at 2015 European Games

The Czech Republic secure the European Games' first ever table tennis medal by beating Ukraine in the women's team event at Baku 2015.

The Czech Republic have defeated Ukraine to claim the first ever European Games table tennis medal in the women's team event.

Having been locked at 1-1 following the opening single ties, the Czechs, who failed to get out of the group stage at the European Championships, won the doubles event before Iveta Vacenovska edged out Ganna Gaponova 3-1 to win bronze for her country.

Victory for the Czechs at Baku Sports Hall moves them up to two medals overall in the inaugural Games' standings.

Germany will take on the Netherlands for the women's team gold medal later this afternoon.
