Ross Murdoch: 'I couldn't sleep'

Ross Murdoch admits that he had a hard time trying to sleep after his win against Michael Jamieson in the 200m breaststroke.

Team Scotland 200m breaststroke gold medal winner Ross Murdoch has admitted that it was hard to sleep after his successful day in the pool on Thursday.

Murdoch said that he has tried not to watch news reports or look at newspapers because the win has not quite sunk in yet.

"After going over all that had happened it took me some time to get to sleep last night but I got a solid five hours in," he told BBC Sport.

"Today I haven't been able to see anything, watch television or read a newspaper, I haven't seen anything of the press."

Murdoch beat the favourite Michael Jamieson in the final to win gold.
