Ellie Simmonds 'excited' to compete at IPC championships in Glasgow

Ellie Simmonds says that she is using next year's IPC Swimming World Championships in Glasgow as preparation for Rio 2016.

Ellie Simmonds believes that next year's International Paralympic Committee Swimming World Championships in Glasgow is perfect preparation for Rio 2016.

The event will be staged at the Tollcross pool, which hosted the swimming event of the Commonwealth Games in the summer.

"I've competed at a few IPC world championships and having this one in Glasgow is exciting," BBC Sport quotes Simmonds as saying.

"It's such a huge sporting event, competing against the whole world. It's a year before Rio so it's going to be top athletes and it will have so many good races."

The IPC event will take place from July 13 to July 19.
