James Willstrop pleased to be back on the court

Team England squash player James Willstrop admits that he was pleased to put his loss in the gold-medal match at Commonwealth Games behind him to compete in the men's doubles.

Team England squash player James Willstrop has revealed that he was pleased to get back on the court in the men's doubles following his defeat in the singles final.

Willstrop claimed the silver medal but missed out on gold as he lost to teammate Nick Matthew in the final at the Commonwealth Games.

However, the 30-year-old managed to bounce back with a victory with partner Daryl Selby against Gibraltar in their first Pool B match.

He told reporters: "It's good but in a way it's difficult as there are a lot of things going on. Physically you're a bit of a mess, but it's the highs that I reached last night, with people watching.

"It's just a wonderful atmosphere and it's just such a high that you've got to come straight back to playing."

Willstrop and Selby play again later today in their second Pool B match against Zambia.
