Laura Massaro talks up squash growth after taking silver

Laura Massaro talks up the growth of squash after her final defeat to Nicol David.

England's Laura Massaro has described how squash is going from "strength to strength" after she was forced to settle for a silver medal.

Massaro was beaten in the women's final against world number one Nicol David 12-10 11-2 11-5 on Monday afternoon.

She told BBC Sport: "It's a worldwide sport now. Our tour is going from strength to strength, and we're touring all corners of the globe really.

"Wherever we go, we get big crowds and we'd love to add an Olympic medal to our careers, so it would be absolutely amazing [to make it an Olympic sport]. So hopefully that is where it is headed."

Earlier in the day, Peter Barker took bronze in the men's event, before Nick Matthew overcame James Willstrop in the final.
