Wales coach Warren Gatland believes that his side are capable of lifting the World Cup despite falling short in the Six Nations this afternoon.
A comprehensive 61-20 victory away to Italy had given Wales hope, but Ireland's 40-10 win over Scotland sent Joe Schmidt's men top on points difference.
However, Gatland was encouraged with his side's display and insists that they are not afraid of playing England or Australia at Twickenham in the group stages of the World Cup later this year.
He told reporters: "If we've got the players fit and available, we're good enough to come out of that group and even to win the World Cup. We have momentum and all the confidence that goes with that.
"We know that when we spend time together we can play some rugby. There's no fear for us playing against England or Australia."
Uruguay and Fiji are also in Pool A for the World Cup, which kicks off in September.
