Delon Armitage appeals 12-week ban

Toulon full-back Delon Armitage has appealed against his 12-week ban for allegedly verbally abusing Leicester Tigers fans.

The 31-year-old was punished following an incident during a European Rugby Champions Cup tie at Welford Road earlier this month.

Armitage, who will attend a hearing in London on January 8, has insisted that he was engaging in 'banter' with supporters.

If he is unsuccessful with his appeal, the former England international will be ineligible to play for Toulon until March 8.
