Gavin Henson has held talks with former club Ospreys over a possible return to the Welsh club.
The Wales centre took unpaid leave from the team in 2009, stating his wish to spend more time with his children, before being released from his contract.
The 29-year-old returned from his sabbatical in 2010 with Saracens, before a brief spell with French side Toulon.
Henson had recently been recalled to the Wales squad, but has been ruled out of the World Cup with a wrist injury.
