Sale Sharks coach Steve Diamond eyes two "top-class" signings

Sale Sharks director of rugby Steve Diamond reveals that he wants to sign two "top-class" players before the start of next season.

Sale Sharks director of rugby Steve Diamond has revealed that he is in the market for two "top-class" signings.

The club currently sits in eighth place in the Aviva Premiership table after 13 games.

Despite admitting that he is still some way off adding to his squad, Diamond is hopeful of bringing in two big-name players before the start of next season.

"We're in the market place for a couple of top-class players and it's one of those processes," he told BBC Sport. "We're not close to any new signings at the moment if I'm honest.

"Effectively whoever it is won't join us, more than likely, until after the World Cup because they'll probably be involved."

Sale are back in action on Sunday when they travel to London Welsh in the league.
