Mark Cueto insists that helping Sale Sharks pick up their third league win of the season was more important than becoming the Premiership's all-time record try scorer.

Sale Sharks' Mark Cueto has insisted that helping his side record just their third league win of the season was more important than his own personal success.

The 33-year-old became the Premiership's all-time record try scorer in their 21-16 win over Exeter Chiefs at the weekend, but he has played down the accolade.

"I don't want to be cliched but the win is the biggest thing. But it's nice and it's one of those things that I'll probably look back on a year or two when I've finished and it'll be a great achievement," he told BBC Sport.

Cueto surpassed Steve Hanley's tally of 75 tries.
