Cory Jane: 'England already on holidays'

England's 36-13 defeat to New Zealand was borne out of being too keen to begin their summer holidays, according to Cory Jane.

New Zealand winger Cory Jane has claimed that England were too preoccupied on their summer holidays to avoid a series whitewash in Hamilton this morning.

Unlike the first two Tests, the All Blacks eased to victory over Stuart Lancaster's side today by registering a 36-13 thrashing to seal a three-nil series win.

Steve Hansen's New Zealand picked up 29 points of their final haul throughout a ruthless first-half showing, and Jane feels that his English counterparts were already on holidays during the costly 40-minute period.

"I guess they fell into the trap we have in the last couple of years when it comes to the end of our season - you've got one eye on your break," he is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News.

"In the first half maybe they were looking at a few weeks off because it had been a long season. We took advantage of that."

Julian Savea touched down for a hat-trick, while Ben Smith collected the other two tries.
