DJ Forbes buoyed by New Zealand sevens start

New Zealand sevens captain DJ Forbes believes that his side are on track to challenge for a sixth consecutive gold medal at the Commonwealth Games.

New Zealand sevens captain DJ Forbes has said that his team are on course to challenge for the gold medal at the Commonwealth Games yet again.

The All Blacks have been unstoppable at the Games over the years, winning every single gold medal and not losing a game since the sport was introduced in 1998.

They continued their 100% record with victories over Canada and host nation Scotland this morning, and Forbes is hopeful that they can keep up their dominance of the competition.

"They never promise anyone a gold medal, but I think we've ticked a few boxes along the way. Two wins from two is a good start, and hopefully we've put ourselves in with a chance of gold," he told Sports Mole.

New Zealand, who are also reigning World Cup and IRB World Series champions, will face Barbados in their final Group A match this evening.
