Fiji have won the Glasgow Sevens title to move top of the World Series standings with just one leg of the season to go.
The Fijians came up against title rivals New Zealand in the final at Scotstoun, running out 24-17 victors to leapfrog the All Blacks Sevens and South Africa into first in the overall standings.
It was the fourth leg of the World Series that Fiji have won this season, a national record that puts them on course for their first title in 10 years.
New Zealand had earlier beaten host nation Scotland 17-7 in a tight quarter-final that was only decided by a try on the buzzer from the reigning World Series champions.
The semi-final was even closer for Sir Gordon Tietjens's men as they edged past England 5-0, while Fiji eased past USA in their last-four clash.
South Africa, who led the way at the start of the weekend, won the Plate final to claim 13 competition points, ensuring that they only drop to second in the standings, five points behind Fiji but now three ahead of New Zealand.
All three of those teams have now qualified for the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro next summer, however, leaving just one automatic spot up for grabs going into the Twickenham Sevens next weekend.
Host nation England currently occupy that spot, with Australia their nearest challengers 16 points behind.
