Shontayne Hape faces hearing over tackle

England and London Irish centre Shontayne Hape is cited over an alleged dangerous tackle on Edinburgh's David Denton.

London Irish centre Shontayne Hape faces a disciplinary hearing after being cited for a dangerous tackle during the Exiles' 20-19 loss to Edinburgh on Saturday.

Hape was reported after an alleged infringement on Edinburgh back-row David Denton during their Heineken Cup clash.

Denton's teammate Sean Cox was also cited for an alleged offence on Hape, whom he apparently struck after a ongoing battle during the game.

Both will attend a hearing in Dublin this Thursday.

Hape travelled with the England squad for this winter's Rugby World Cup in New Zealand, but was largely overlooked by coach Martin Johnson.
