Wigan Warriors replace Sam Tomkins with Matthew Bowen

Wigan Warriors sign Matthew Bowen from North Queensland Cowboys as a replacement for the outgoing Sam Tomkins.

Wigan Warriors have signed Matthew Bowen from North Queensland Cowboys as a replacement for the outgoing Sam Tomkins.

The Super League club confirmed on Monday that Tomkins would be joining New Zealand Warriors at the end of the season for a world-record fee of £700,000.

However, they have moved quickly to fill the gap left by the England full-back with the signing of Bowen on a one-year deal.

Wigan have the option to extend the Australian's contract by a further 12 months once it expires.
