St Helens RLFC have continued their rise up the Super League table with a convincing 38-12 win over Wakefield Trinity Wildcats.

Chris Flannery scored the first of his hat-trick of tries to put the home side in front before Dean Collis went over and Paul Sykes converted to level the scores.

Sol Soliola scored two quick-fire tries to put Saints in a commanding position before Jonny Lomax furthered their advantage.

Lomax kicked over for a third conversion to help his side into a 22-6 lead heading into the interval.

Two tries from Flannery had racked up the points for Saints before Tommy Makinson and James Roby made the scores 38-6.

Peter Fox managed a reply for the Wildcats, with Sykes once again converting for little consolation for the visitors.
