Grand National-winning trainer Toby Balding dies at the age of 78.

Grand National-winning trainer Toby Balding has died at the age of 78.

Balding, who won two Grand Nationals, trained more than 2,000 winners during his career, and also mentored jockeys AP McCoy and Adrian Maguire.

McCoy wrote on Twitter: "I cried when I heard the news my old boss and friend Toby Balding had died. We had great times together, he was my ultimate mentor."

Balding, who was the uncle of TV presenter Clare, was awarded an OBE seven years after retiring in 2004.
