AP McCoy likely to ride Double Seven in Grand National at Aintree

AP McCoy reveals that he is likely to ride Double Seven in this Saturday's Grand National at Aintree.

AP McCoy has revealed that he is likely to ride Double Seven in Saturday's Grand National at Aintree.

The 18-time champion has admitted that the Martin Brassil-trained horse is his "preference", but will not make a final decision until Thursday.

"After thinking long and hard, I am tending towards Double Seven," McCoy told The Telegraph. "However, he is a very ground-dependent horse and with the rain that is forecast for Aintree on Friday I just hope the going does not become too soft.

"I will not make a definite decision until Thursday morning, but he is my preference at the moment."

McCoy won the steeplechase with Don't Push It in 2010.
