Ruby Walsh has been forced to retire from this afternoon's Grand National after falling on Zarkander and suffering a head injury in the Aintree Hurdle.
Walsh's late withdrawal marks the second time the 32-year-old has had to pull out of the famous steeplechase after he missed out in 2010 because of a fractured arm.
Paul Townend will take the ride of Walsh's mount On His Own, leaving last year's favourite The Midnight Club, which will now be ridden by Andrew Tinkler.
Walsh still has interests in the race as younger sister Katie looks to become the first female jockey to win the National as she rides Seabass, who has been backed heavily during the day.
