Ruby Walsh fails to win the Neptune Novice on favourite Pont Alexandre at Cheltenham.

Sam Twiston-Davies upset the form book on The New One by winning the Neptune Novice Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival this afternoon.

Pre-race favourite Pont Alexandre, who was being ridden by Ruby Walsh, looked to be on course to claim the victory when it hit the front with two fences left to clear.

However, with one fence left, the leader appeared to tighten up, which allowed The New One to take up the advantage.

The five-year-old kicked on from there and claimed a comfortable win, with Rule The World pipping Pont Alexandre into second spot.
