Maria Sharapova brushes off criticism of her pop-up Wimbledon Sugarpova sweet shop.

Maria Sharapova has brushed off criticism from healthcare experts surrounding her Wimbledon pop-up sweet shop.

The Russian tennis star, who was knocked out of the Grand Slam by Angelique Kerber in the fourth round, has her own range of sweets branded Sugarpova.

The 27-year-old opened up a Sugarpova Candy Lounge on Wimbledon High Street on June 16, and while it has been well received by fans, healthcare experts have questioned Sharapova's move.

According to the Daily Mail, when asked about the controversy, Sharapova said: "Criticism but great sales afterwards. It's the best day after the criticisms. If you want to provide some more..."

Sharapova founded the confectionery company in 2012.
