Gary Lineker hits out at Wimbledon for allowing politicians to watch the final between Andy Murray and Novak Djokovic from the Royal Box.

Former England footballer Gary Lineker has described it as a "waste" to allow politicians to sit in the Royal Box at Wimbledon.

Prime Minister David Cameron, Scotland's First Minister Alex Salmond and Labour leader Ed Miliband were all in attendance to watch Andy Murray win the final over Novak Djokovic at SW19 on Sunday.

After spotting the politicians, Lineker wrote on Twitter: "What a waste of great tickets. Politicians who have forever overlooked and disrespected sport. #wimbledon."

Lineker also criticised ticket priority for businesses after a number of seats were left empty during the early stages of the tournament.
