American popstar Katy Perry has been confirmed as the performer at the half-time show of Super Bowl XLIX in Glendale, Arizona.
The 30-year-old, who has achieved nine number-one singles in the US since 2008, will join stars such as Beyonce and Madonna to perform at the Super Bowl in recent years in the 30-minute half-time interval.
Following the announcement during the match between the New York Giants and the Dallas Cowboys, Perry said on Twitter: "My band is in the other room screaming at the TV (and each other) over this Cowboys-Giants game. Can't wait for February 1st..."
The Super Bowl will take place on February 1 at the University of Phoenix Stadium.
