Tottenham Hotspur fans' assailants 'made Nazi salutes'

The gang that attacked a group of Tottenham Hotspur fans in Lyon made Nazi salutes, according to an eyewitness.

The mob that attacked a number of Tottenham Hotspur fans in Lyon made Nazi salutes when entering a bar in the city, according to an eyewitness.

The Premier League club confirmed today that three supporters had sustained minor injuries when a gang of masked men approached the Smoking Dog pub ahead of Spurs' Europa League second leg against Lyon tonight.

"They came in at around 10.30pm. There were lots of Spurs fans in the pub," eyewitness Christian Radnege told The Mirror. "It was fit to burst. Then around 20 masked men came towards the pub. The glass was smashed, missiles were thrown into the pub.

"I saw two people with cuts, injured. Someone else said there were seven or eight. The owner of the pub said there were 25 of them. They came in making Nazi salutes. It was frightening."

A number of Spurs fans were targeted ahead of their side's European tie with Lazio in Rome back in November.
