Hair stylist Daniel Johnson has taken credit for "transforming" Real Madrid star Gareth Bale's image.

The Wales international's hair style is believed to be in high demand in Spain following his £85m switch from Tottenham Hotspur to the Santiago Bernabeu.

"I look after Gareth Bale and I transformed his whole image, really," Johnson told the Daily Mail. "The whole of Spain's gone mad for it. I've been doing his haircuts for quite a while.

"Gareth Bale's haircuts are mine. As you can see, a haircut can transform you. As well as your appearance, it can also boost your confidence highly as well."

Johnson is also said to have cut the hair of Wayne Rooney, Ashley Cole and Mario Balotelli.
