Report: BT Sports aim to beat Sky Sports to upcoming Pakistan vs. England series

England's tour of the UAE to play Pakistan is the subject of a bidding war between Sky Sports and BT Sport, according to reports.

BT Sport is attempting to beat Sky Sports to the rights to show England's next international series in Pakistan this year, according to reports.

The broadcaster announced a deal with Cricket Australia yesterday which will see them exclusively show all of Australia's home series from 2017, including the 2017-18 Ashes series.

However, The Telegraph claims that BT Sport is trying to add international cricket to its roster sooner than expected, with England's tour to the UAE on the agenda.

The broadcasting rights are yet to be settled for the three-Test tour, although the paper claims that Sky are close to the deal.

The Pakistan Cricket Board is expected to welcome BT's interest, as it will drive up the price as Sky attempt to fend off their rivals.

The broadcasters have been going head to head for all major sports contracts for the last three years, with BT winning the rights to show the Champions League and Europa League from this season, while Sky recently kept the rights to La Liga.

England start their series against Pakistan on October 13.
