The mother of Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has revealed that she considered an abortion when she was pregnant with the three-time Ballon d'Or recipient.
In the upcoming film Ronaldo, Maria Dolores dos Santos Aveiro admits that she wanted to have a termination during her pregnancy with the future football icon.
"He was a child I wanted to abort. We laugh about it now and he says 'now I am helping you all'," she said.
Last month, the Portuguese ace, 30, broke Raul's record of 323 goals to become the Blancos' most prolific marksman of all time.
Ronaldo managed the feat in 310 games, with Raul reaching his haul over the course of 741 appearances.
He will rival Lionel Messi for a third successive Ballon d'Or - and fourth overall - in January, with the Barcelona star vying for a fifth title.
