Google and Apple are reportedly set to compete with BT and BskyB for the rights to broadcast live Premier League football from the 2016-17 season.
BT and BskyB are believed to be likely contenders for some of the packages on offer. However, The Mirror claims that the two US technology giants are looking to secure coverage of England's top flight.
Is it thought that bidding could top £4bn, which equates to more than £7m-per-match. That figure could see Premier League teams pocketing as much as £100m each season as part of any deal.
While Google and Apple are believed to be considering bids, industry experts are predicting another battle between BT and Sky for coverage.
As part of the existing contract, BT Sport screens 38 games every season, while Sky Sports broadcasts 116 fixtures.
