Caitlyn Jenner: 'I don't display my Olympic gold medal, I keep it in a draw'

Caitlyn Jenner reveals that she keeps her Olympic gold medal out of sight because she did not want her children to feel like their achievements did not match up.

Former athlete Caitlyn Jenner has revealed that she keeps her Olympic gold medal in her makeup draw as opposed to displaying it in her home.

The 65-year-old, who became a transgender woman earlier this year, took decathlon gold in the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal.

During a video post on her blog The Real Me, Jenner, formerly known as Bruce, answered a fan who asked where she kept the winning medal.

"My gold medal is my most prized possession - I'm so proud of it," said Jenner. "However, I never wanted my kids to feel like they had to have a gold medal in order to be considered a success.

"I didn't want them to constantly compare their own achievements to my time in the Olympics, so I haven't displayed my medal."

Jenner, who was honoured with the Arthur Ashe Courage Award at the ESPYs last month, is now the star of her own E! reality show I Am Cait.
