Sir Chris Hoy reportedly comes in behind Jessica Ennis and Mo Farah in terms of earnings due to a £1.2m fortune.

Olympic champion Sir Chris Hoy has reportedly moved up to third place in the earnings table of Great Britain's athletes.

The 37-year-old now sits behind heptathlete Jessica Ennis and long-distance runner Mo Farah in terms of money accumulated in sponsorship deals.

It is understood that Hoy has a fortune of £1.2m due to contracts with the likes of Gillette and Adidas, according to the Daily Star.

Hoy became the most successful British Olympian after clinching his sixth gold medal at the London 2012 Games.
