Sir Chris Hoy edges out fellow Briton Jason Kenny at the Six Days of Rotterdam contest.

Sir Chris Hoy has emerged as the winner of the Six Days of Rotterdam event, edging out fellow Briton Jason Kenny by a single point.

The 36-year-old took a three-point lead into the final day of the four-man contest after trailing Kenny with two days completed.

Hoy came in second in the sprint and third in the keirin as well, as winning the team sprint with Kenny to come away as the overall victor by the slenderest of margins.

"Thanks Rotterdam! Great six nights of racing, big crowds and brilliant atmosphere. Hope to see you again next year," the Olympic legend wrote on Twitter.

Holland's Teun Mulder and France's Gregory Bauge came in third and fourth respectively.
