Two of Bradley Wiggins's fellow nominees for this year's BBC Sports Personality of the Year have backed the Tour de France winner to claim the title.
Speaking to Channel 5 News, cyclist Sir Chris Hoy admitted that Wiggins's success throughout 2012 has made him the most obvious candidate.
"It has to be Bradley because I do just believe that winning the Tour de France in terms of a single one-off achievement for a sports person, that is the greatest achievement ever," he said. "How do you top that?"
Paralympian Ellie Simmonds also tipped Wiggins to win the public vote by saying: "I would vote for Bradley Wiggins because he is a great athlete and he has a great personality.
"His achievements in the Tour de France and also the Olympics as well."
