Paul Gascoigne admits that he will "never say never" to drinking alcohol again, despite spending five weeks in rehab.

England legend Paul Gascoigne has admitted that there is a chance he could revert back to drinking booze in the future.

The 45-year-old recently left a rehab facility in the United States following a public appearance in Northampton during which he slurred his words on stage.

Despite spending five weeks seeking treatment for his addiction, Gascoigne revealed on Channel 4's Alan Carr: Chatty Man that he could go back to his drinking ways.

"It's been three months since I had a drink," the Daily Star quotes Gascoigne as saying. "I do miss a pint. I'll never say never. I might drink again in the future.

"I don't plan to, I've got to keep my eye on the ball and do the right things. But I've got an addictive personality. For me it's just that I fancy a pint. I think I'll be alright for one and I get too excited. It's all right getting there but once I'm drunk I'm a nightmare."

The former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder previously revealed that doctors feared he would die while in Arizona.
