TV host Helen Chamberlain to leave 'Soccer AM' after 22 years

Helen Chamberlain leaves football-based talkshow Soccer AM after 22 years.

TV host Helen Chamberlain will leave her role at Soccer AM after 22 years on the show.

The football-based talkshow is undergoing a revamp ahead of the new Premier League season, with Lloyd Griffith being hired to co-host.

The comedian, who has appeared on the Saturday-morning show as a guest a handful of times, will be joined by retired player Jimmy Bullard and current host John Fendley.

Chamberlain joined the setup in 1995 alongside co-presenter Tim Lovejoy, who left in 2007 following an 11-year stint.

According to The Mirror, ratings have declined since then, with the show going from around 300,000 viewers to attracting approximately 60,000 on a weekly basis.

The programme was also cut from a four-hour duration to 90 minutes.
