Wayne Bridge confirmed for 'I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!'

Former England international Wayne Bridge is confirmed for this year's series of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!.

Former England international Wayne Bridge has been confirmed as a member of the lineup for this year's series of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!.

Bridge, who names his dream camper as boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr, won 36 caps for England between 2002 to 2009.

The 36-year-old also played for the likes of Southampton, Chelsea and Manchester City at club level, winning the Premier League title and the FA Cup under Jose Mourinho at Stamford Bridge.

"I am bricking myself. I am so nervous and scared of everything. This whole thing is so different for me. I have never really put myself out there publicly before. People either say 'I am famous for playing football' or some might say 'I am famous for not shaking someone's hand' but I would like people to get to know me for who I am," he said in a statement.

"I would be devastated if I shouted 'I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!' Of course my friends will take the mickey and I will be getting ripped if I scream. But I want to give the trials a go. I've seen previous celebrities jump out of a plane and whilst I will be scared to actually do it, I think I will get a buzz from it too.

"I want it to happen tomorrow now. All I can think about is the jungle. Everything is going on around my head and I can't actually believe I managed to get some sleep last night because I can't stop thinking about it. I have never been approached before but when they did this year, I just thought 'wow'. It's such a test and challenge for me. I love the show, my son loves the show and so do my family and friends."

Bridge follows in the footsteps of John Fashanu, Rodney Marsh, Jimmy Bullard and Kieron Dyer as former footballers to have entered the jungle.
