Netherlands' Mulder twins eyeing rare feat

Michel and Ronald Mulder will be looking to make history on Monday by becoming the second twins ever to win an Olympic medal in the same individual event at the same Winter Games.

The Netherlands' Michel and Ronald Mulder will be aiming to become the second twins ever to win an Olympic medal in the same individual event at the same Winter Games.

The 27-year-olds will be competing in the men's 500m speed skating event at the Adler Arena in Sochi on Monday.

Phil and Steve Mahre of the USA are the only twins to have achieved the rare feat in the 1984 Winter Olympics in Sarajevo.

On that occasion, Phil won gold in slalom, while his brother Steve finish 0.21 seconds behind in second.
