IOC respond to Bode Miller's ski slope criticism

Spokesman for the IOC Mark Adams says that Bode Miller's comments on the Sochi 2014 downhill ski course can be spun in a positive light.

The International Olympic Committee have responded to claims made by USA skier Bode Miller in which he said that the Rosa Khutor downhill piste "can kill you".

The American made the comments after Rok Perko of Slovenia and Miller's teammate Marco Sullivan both had accidents on the Sochi 2014 course.

Spokesman Mark Adams told reporters: "It's the federation, the International Ski Federation, that's responsible for the courses and they are incredibly happy.

"Actually Bode Miller has a particularly good way of expressing himself so I think if you read his comments, I think you'd see them as very positive. I mean, I think he felt it was very positive.

"When you saw the snowboard slopestyle yesterday, we'll agree it was an amazing event. The athletes who took part in that, the proof is in the pudding, as we say, they loved it. So we're very happy and the federation is very happy and they're the people who manage it."

Miller has five Olympic medals to his name, but despite being fastest in Saturday's qualifying, he finished in eighth position during Sunday's final.
