Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney reportedly decided to deal with his woes by going for dinner with golfer Rory McIlroy following his side's opening Premier League defeat to Swansea City.
The Red Devils suffered a 2-1 loss at Old Trafford last Saturday in Louis van Gaal's first game in charge.
After the match, Rooney and United fan McIlroy, who paraded the Claret Jug at Old Trafford prior to the game following his British Open triumph, went to a Chinese restaurant for dinner, according to the Daily Star.
Rooney was appointed captain for the new season by Van Gaal following Nemanja Vidic's departure in the summer.
