Premier League games to be shown on YouTube if season resumes?

A report claims that Sky Sports and BT Sport could show free-to-air games online if the Premier League season is given the all clear to resume next month.

Premier League games could be shown on YouTube if the season is given the green light to resume, according to a report.

Talks are ongoing over a possible return to action in mid-June, three months after the campaign was brought to a halt by the coronavirus pandemic.

If the season does restart, The Times claims that all 92 matches may be televised, including a number of free-to-air games on Sky Sports' and BT Sport's YouTube channels.

However, the two main Premier League broadcasters want assurances that relegation will not be scrapped, which is one of the plans reportedly discussed at last week's meeting between top-flight clubs.

Amazon will also screen a number of games under the plan, it is claimed, while the BBC will increase its number of highlight shows.
